Fishing, Hiking, Biking Trails, Canoeing
Golf and Tennis at Saranac Lake

Spring & Summer Activities
Fishing,
hiking, biking trails, canoeing, golf and tennis are among the popular activities at Saranac
Lake during the spring and summer seasons. The Adirondack experience begins just outside
your door.
The village of Saranac Lake was recently rated the #1 small town in New York (and #11
in the U.S.) and GQ and Ski magazines have rated the Adirondack Park one of the premier
vacation spots in the United States.
Take one of our pedal boats, provided free to guests, for a ride on the small
pond. Don't forget to feed the ducks and geese while you are paddling about they're
always happy to join you for a snack. The small park on the shores of Lake Flower adjacent
to the Sara-Placid Motor Inn has free public basketball and lighted tennis courts.
Fishing
Planning to take advantage of the Adirondacks' best fishing? Lake Flower connects
to five lakes loaded with northern pike and bass. A state boat launch and two marinas are
located nearby.
Come see why the Saranac Lake - Lake Placid area, one of the most scenic regions of
the country, was chosen to host the ESPN Outdoor Games in 2001 and 2002.
Hiking
and Biking Trails
Many of the Adirondacks' best hiking and biking trails are nearby. The famous Jack Rabbit
Trail adjoins the Sara-Placid Motor Inn and connects the towns of Saranac Lake and Keene
(approximately 25 miles). If you don't wish to hike the full length, you will still find
beautiful views and quiet spots for secluded picnics.
Canoeing
Canoe trips are a perfect way for exploring the Adirondacks. Islands on many of the
lakes allow you to pause for a picnic, quiet swim or just relax and enjoy the beauty of
the Adirondack wildlife and sunsets for which the Adirondack Mountains are justly
famous. You'll come home with pictures and memories to spare.
Golf
If golf is your preferred method of unwinding, you'll enjoy the many golf courses the
Adirondacks have to offer. With spectacular views and challenges for all skill levels,
beginner to championship, your golfing experience in the Adirondacks region will be one
to remember. Ask about our many discounted golfing packages!
Tennis
You can also enjoy a game of tennis on the adjacent lake front free public tennis courts.
Rackets and balls are provided at the front desk free of charge to our guests.
Enjoy your Spring or Summer season in the Adirondacks in one of our lakeside
cottages.
